quite a few times i’ve seen graphic depictions of animal abuse being reblogged in order to gain support

which is really a great thing! it’s good that so many people are upset by this and it really does need to be stopped

however, people seem to rarely tag these posts behind the rationale that “more people will see it” and “i know people hate seeing these things but this NEEDS TO BE NOTICED” and because they don’t want people to skip seeing it because they feel very strongly about gaining support for this

yes, that’s true, people can’t blacklist what you don’t tag, but this isn’t always a matter of people being insensitive, some people are EXTREMELY BOTHERED by graphic animal abuse and seeing it on their dashes makes them feel physically ill and very uncomfortable

it isn’t because they aren’t in support of ending animal abuse at all and it bothers me to see people acting like if you skip these posts, you’re a Bad Person

the fact that some people wish to avoid seeing it doesn’t mean they aren’t wanting to support it, it means they are really sensitive to this sort of thing and this is why i’d like to stress that people tag any posts signal boosting outrage against animal abuse

for future reference:

you can hide the images this way, so if someone doesn’t have whatever tag you use blacklisted, then they still don’t have to see the images and be upset.

and you can change the title, or add one

and have a huge trigger warning, warning the blogger before they read any of the content, or click the link to see the pictures!
